Having visited the resort and used it facilities on several occasions, Sheraton really does the simple things very stylishly - from the great pool-side service whilst sitting amidst palm trees enjoying a fine selection of cocktails and flavoured tobacco.
I guess as beffiting a brand such as Sheraton, the design really is immaculate, with beach-side beds dispersed near the bar and restaurant that - while taking some time for a lowly Welshman to adjust to - reflect some of the additonal touches that make the resort great for relaxation. From my brief visits, I find the beaches in the main area of the resort do not particularly provide the secluded luxury of other properties. This can be seen in areas towards its water villas that are full of coral, which is great for snorkelling, but not so hot for buckets and spades. Personally though, the pool side and bar atmosphere are wonderful and reflect the overall style that is a great mix of vegetation and sleek modern features. Though not having stayed at the resort's properties, I have heard from friends and colleagues that some of the rooms were a little simple considering the effort put into the overall atmosphere of the destination. Others though found their properties generously well proportioned and thought out. While being impressed, I do personally think that as well as the fine dinning and design, you are paying something additionally for the Sheraton name. But for chilling out in a luxury-island setting, it is certainly worth a look.
