Note: We have yet to independently review this resort.
Irufushi previously had 180 rooms with planned expansion when it was under Hilton surprisingly adding more to total 220, which seems a lot to me on what is only a medium-sized island. A portion of these will be in the lagoon, off two separate water bungalow jetties. Of course, they will have beautiful interior design, as Hilton pledge to successfully expand their resort brand, now entirely distinct from their city hotel brand.
There will be four restaurants and a 'selection of distinctive bars'. The spa will feature 21 private spa pavilions and be complimented by a swimming pool, fitness centre, tennis courts and a range of water sports.
Noonu atoll is a 45 minute seaplane journey from the airport. It is, at this point, pretty much unexplored, so there should be some exciting dives around and the chance to visit untainted islands, both inhabited and uninhabited.
If you have had a holiday in Irufushi during its short life, do tell us what you thought of it and its neighbourhood.
