Kurumba Maldives has held its third annual “Party with a Purpose,” a charity fundraiser with non-stop live entertainment across two venues. The event – which took place on May 2- raised a fantastic $20,000, which will be used to purchase supplies for the local orphanage ‘Kudakudhinge Hiyaa,’ and the Education and Training Centre for Children in Maafushi island.
Kurumba Maldives has an impressive history of organising fundraisers, and this event was no exception. Entertainment included live painting from local artists, Maldivian and international bands, DJ’s, and Bodu Beru performing for guests’ enjoyment.
During the day, many guests enjoyed the music and food while reclining on the beanbags or dancing on the beach, while the more adventurous invitees were able to enjoy watersports activities courtesy of Extreme Maldives.
Moreover, throughout the event guests placed bids at the silent auction, which had an impressive range of 18 luxury resorts and 2 major airline carriers as sponsors.
The Kudakudhinge Hiyaa orphanage, located on Villingili island, hosts children between the ages of 6 months and 21 years old. It is a self-supporting service that requires help from the community and industry in order to continue providing a caring, safe and educational environment for these children.
Judit Rosa, Sales & Marketing Manager of Kurumba and organizer of the event stated: “This has been a highly successful event. We have been blessed and overwhelmed by the support of the local performers, suppliers and partners. Going forward, we intend to maintain this popular yearly event and raise greater funds for a good purpose.”
